Gisele Bündchen Says Tom Brady Has Suffered Multiple Concussions: ‘We Don’t Talk About It’

New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady, who turns 40 in August, has reportedly suffered from multiple concussions — including one last year — his wife Gisele Bündchen said.

The 36-year-old supermodel dropped the bombshell claim on Wednesday’s CBS This Morning, telling co-host Charlie Rose that the sport is not healthy for her husband’s body.

“I just have to say, as a wife, I’m a little bit — as you know, it’s not the most, let’s say ‘unaggressive’ sport, right?” Bündchen said, when asked if she was trying to get Brady to retire. “Football, like he had a concussion last year. I mean, he has concussions pretty much every  year — we don’t talk about it, but he does have concussions.”

“I don’t really think it’s a healthy thing for your body to go through that kind of aggression all the time,” she added. “That cannot be healthy for you, right? I mean, I’m planning on having him be healthy and do a lot of fun things when we’re like 100, I hope!”

According to the NFL though, neither Brady nor the Patriots have ever reported any injuries.

“There are no records that indicate that Mr. Brady suffered a head injury or concussion, or exhibited or complained of concussion symptoms,” a league spokesman said Wednesday, NFL.com reported — adding they’d reviewed all reports relating to Brady “from the unaffiliated neurotrauma consultants and certified athletic trainer spotters who worked at Patriots’ home and away 2016 season games as well as club injury reports that were sent to the league office.”

They said they’re working the NFL Players Association to “gather more information from the club’s medical staff and Mr. Brady” — stressing “the health and safety of our players is our foremost priority and we want to ensure that all our players have and continue to receive the best care possible.”

According to the NFL concussion protocol, concussions sustained during the regular season must be reported. Those that happen during the preseason or Super Bowl do not need to be reported.

Bündchen‘s news came days after Brady told ESPN he has no plans to retire any time soon, explaining on Monday he wants to play until he’s 45.

“If it was up to my wife, she would have me retire today,” he said on Jim Miller’s Sirius XM show in February. “She told me that last night… three times!”

Brady has been sacked 137 times over the past 4 seasons.
