Farrah Abraham Sent Teen Mom OG Costar Amber Portwood a Cease and Desist Letter for Alleged ‘Harassment’

The Teen Mom OG feud isn’t over yet: Farrah Abraham recently sent a cease and desist letter to her costar Amber Portwood, PEOPLE confirms.

According to a copy of the May 16 letter obtained by PEOPLE, Abraham’s lawyer alleges that Portwood has “been making false and defamatory statements about Ms. Abraham to the media.” The letter also alleges that Portwood, 27, has been “physically harassing” Abraham, 26, “most recently at the 2017 MTV Movie & TV Awards.”

“This behavior has persisted for quite some time now (recalling the physical attack on Farrah at the last reunion special) and it must stop,” wrote Abraham’s lawyer. “You are hereby directed to cease and desist from any communication or interaction with Ms. Abraham, including defamatory statements made to the media. If this harassment persists, we will be left with no other option but pursue this matter further and file a civil suit for damages. Please govern yourself accordingly.”

According to their May 18 response obtained by PEOPLE, Portwood’s legal team confirmed receipt of the letter and forwarded a copy to Portwood, though they advised they had not been retained to represent her in the matter.

The two reality stars have long feuded, but the tension between Abraham and Portwood came to a head during the MTV show’s reunion last December, when Portwood — in an attempt to defend her fiancé Matt Baier — took a swing at Abraham.

“Just because somebody’s 20 years older than you doesn’t mean he’s a f—ing pedophile,” yelled Portwood, getting in Abraham’s face. “Shut your f—ing mouth, do you understand me? Shut your f—ing mouth.”

The fight escalated significantly as Baier and Abraham’s father Michael got involved, and security eventually stepped in to put an end to it. The two women both took to Twitter afterwards to address the altercation.

“Well this was a interesting night … always sending love not hate because you never know what hate can bring your way,” tweeted Portwood, before adding: “If I was going out there to hit her than I would have. Just wanted her to say it to my face and of course she didn’t … let’s be honest.”

“Byeeee Criminal couple learn how to act in public ….” tweeted Abraham. “Horrible example #failedatlife @mtv maybe they need a teen mom special too.”

Most recently, Portwood told PEOPLE Now in April that Abraham is “just not a person that I want to attach myself .”

“I do not want kids today who are watching the show to think that that is a strong woman,” she added. “That is not a strong woman. That is a hateful woman. That is not what you want to be like.”

When PEOPLE Now caught up Abraham a few weeks later, the star responded by saying that she doesn’t “want to be around criminals anymore” and doesn’t think Portwood understands her.

“I think some of my cast members I work with on Teen Mom are severely depressed,” she said. “I’ve already been through depression, anger, all those things. I have received a lot of help. I continue doing positive therapy just because I’m running companies now, so I know exactly what I need and I don’t need anybody else letting me know what I need.”

Us Weekly was the first to report the news of Abraham’s cease and desist letter.

Teen Mom OG airs Mondays (9 p.m. ET) on MTV.
