A Wonderful, Wonderful Night it Will Be: Johnny Mathis Set to Debut Live Concert Film on Public Television

Johnny Mathis is gearing up to air his new live concert film, Wonderful, Wonderful!, debuting nationally on Public Television stations June 10 through T.J. Lubinsky’s hit My Music series.

“My PBS Wonderful, Wonderful! concert was one of the finest and most enjoyable experiences of my career and it is my hope that all of you can tune in to share in this very special PBS presentation,” he tells PEOPLE exclusively of the production, which will support a public media pledge drive.

The special will feature not only a Mathis performance, but also a new Lubinsky interview with the 81-year-old legend himself.

As a singular vocal talent and household jazz name lighting up the charts for over a half-century, the title “Wonderful! Wonderful!” — which happens to be the name of his most recent production — made its lasting mark in 1957 when it became his first single.

Throughout his years serenading fans, Mathis has sold over 100 million records worldwide, and has taken home four Grammy awards and a Grammy lifetime achievement award in 2003. The musical icon is best known for classic hits like “Chances Are,” “Misty” and “It’s Not for Me to Say.”
