Reese Witherspoon Hits the Trail with ‘Wilderness Buddy’ Deacon – See the Photos from Their Nature Adventure

Reese Witherspoon and her son are going back to the wild.

The actress and her teenager Deacon Phillippe are enjoying a mother-son trip to nature, which she’s been capturing on social media since earlier this week.

In one video, Witherspoon teased their approach to a wooded area over a body of water with several small islands, writing only “#Wilderness here we come!”

She and Deacon – who is Witherspoon’s son with ex-husband Ryan Phillippe – also posed together for a selfie in similar outdoor gear.

Of the image, the 41-year-old wrote, “Wilderness buddy.”

Witherspoon is also mom to Ava, 17, with Phillippe, and son Tennessee, 4, with her husband Jim Toth.

The trip seems to be somewhat of an annual tradition for Deacon and Witherspoon. Last year, the duo documented a similar hiking trek.

Witherspoon – who starred in the big screen adaptation of Cheryl Strayed‘s Wild, which follows a woman who sets out to trek the Pacific Crest Trail, alone and with no experience – wrote at the time, “That first step into nature. Who else is out there hiking and exploring the world!? Share your adventures, or favorite nature quotes, as I share mine. Embark on this adventure with me by using #StayWILD.”
