President Donald Trump’s comment to the first lady of France that she was “in such good physical shape” is still stunning women around the world — including Australia’s Foreign Minister Julie Bishop.
During an appearance Sunday on ABC TV’s Insiders, Bishop was asked whether she would be “flattered or offended” by the comment Trump made first to Macron and then repeated to her husband, French President Emmanuel Macron, during his trip to Paris last week.
“I’d be taken aback, I think,” Bishop said. “It’s a rather interesting comment to make.”
Barely skipping a beat, Bishop added: “I wonder if she could say the same of him?”

SkyNews Australia host Patricia Karvelas and BuzzFeed declared that Bishop’s remarks were exactly what “the women of the world have been thinking.”

In one viral response to the incident, Reebok mocked the president by tweeting out a chart explaining “when it is appropriate to say, ‘You’re in such good shape…beautiful.’ ”

The only acceptable situation? When you “find a forgotten action figure from your youth, unscathed after decades, in your parents’ basement.”
